On May 30th and 31st, the high school HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) club hosted a fun bonding event for elementary students called Playtime Palooza. At the event, elementary students were able to enjoy many engaging activities, such as art projects, puzzles, board games, and an educational movie. The purpose of the event was to raise funds for HOSA`s initiatives, such as school-wide CPR training, first-aid certification for students, donations to UNICEF health programs, and more. With combined efforts of all HOSA members, high school volunteers, Ms. Harvey, and PTSO, the event was a success, raising over 400,000 KRW in total. We look forward to what HOSA has in store for our community! 🎬🍿🍕

On Monday, our team of Grade 4 & 5 students participated in the Badminton Invitational Tournament at GIFS. 🏸 Our athletes showed their hardworking spirit and tried their best throughout the day. BFS represented well with 8 students in the semi-final. In a thrilling boys final, Woojung C. won 1st place.🏅 Honorable mention to Leanna L. for earning 4th place. We appreciate the invitation from GIFS, our sister school, and we look forward to participating next year.

On Wednesday, May 22, 2024 BFS hosted the SKAC MS Girls Basketball Finals Tournament. Our A-team girls played very well on the day with 2 wins and 2 losses in round robin play, reaching the semi finals as the #3 seed. In the semi final game the Sharks upended the Jets from DIS to reach the Final. In the Final the A-team fought really hard but were unable to make enough plays to stay with the Bears from ISB as they finished in 2nd place in the tournament. This 2nd place finish upended the BFS A-team`s streak of 3 consecutive championships dating back to 2019. Hopefully the girls can start another streak next season!

The high school girls’ soccer team competed in the SKAC Soccer Finals at ISB on Thursday. The girls played extremely well as a team throughout the day. In the first match the girls had a close game with ISB with a score of 1-0. The girls tied their second match against DIS with a score of 0-0. In their third match the girls defeated HIS with a score of 3-1 (Goals scored by Angie). This brought the girls into the championship game against ISB. In the final match the BFS Sharks beat ISB with a score of 2-1. Both Angie and Maria headed the ball into the net, assisted by Sophie. The HS girl sharks displayed excellent sportsmanship and are the 2024 SKAC Soccer Champions!
