Lifeboat 12 by Susan Hood

Historical fiction & Poetry

Lifeboat 12 by Susan Hood is a historical fiction and poetry book about a 13-year-old boy being sent to be safe before the Nazis bomb London. But he suspects that his stepmother was glad that the boy was leaving, but his dad tells the boy about how he is an auspicious one to be able to be sent and safe from the bad people. 1 of 90 evacuee boys and girls shipped out aboard the SS City of Benares to safety in Canada. But as usual, on the ship, there are some significant conflicts during the move. I would rate this book to 5 because it had great characters and the form of this book, poetry, was entertaining and interesting to read. If you like books about refugees and adventures, then maybe you’ll like this book.
