At Busan Foreign School, we believe science education goes beyond the classroom. It’s about sparking curiosity, encouraging collaboration, and giving students opportunities to share their ideas with the wider world. This fall, our SEED Science Club achieved exactly that — earning a 19-page feature in Science Vega Magazine, a respected publication dedicated to nurturing future scientists.

Student Voices in Science

Led by BFS High School science teacher Mr. Simnett, the SEED Science Club empowers students to explore topics they care about and communicate their discoveries with clarity and purpose. Under his guidance, the club has grown into a hub of scientific inquiry, where students learn not only to ask big questions but also to share their insights in ways that inspire others.

In total, 11 BFS student authors contributed original articles to the magazine, covering themes as diverse as:

  • Health & Well-Being
  • Applied Science & Technology
  • Social Sciences & Humanities
  • Earth Science

The students’ work reflects both their scientific curiosity and their ability to express complex ideas in writing — skills that will serve them well in university and beyond.

Recognition Beyond the Classroom

This publication is more than just a showcase of student work. It highlights BFS’s commitment to student-centered learning and to providing authentic opportunities where our Sharks can engage with the world as young scholars and communicators.

“Projects like this show our students that science isn’t something you just read about,” explains Mr. Simnett. “It’s something you do — something you can share with others, and something that connects you to a larger community of learners.”

Sharks Making Waves

Being featured in Science Vega is a significant achievement — one that demonstrates the drive, talent, and creativity of our students. It also reflects the supportive environment at BFS, where dedicated teachers like Mr. Simnett guide students to push their boundaries and shine.

👏 A big congratulations to our SEED Science Club authors for their outstanding work and for making waves in the world of science publishing.
