On Saturday, April 25, 2026, Busan Foreign School (BFS) hosted its third annual Spring Fair, celebrating the vibrant spirit of our school. With perfect spring weather, the event highlighted what makes BFS truly special—its diverse and connected community.
The Spring Fair is a highlight of the school year, bringing families together through culture, food, performances, games, and shared experiences.
This year’s event featured 12 country booths showcasing food, crafts, and traditions from around the world, including Japan, India, Germany, the USA, Korea, Russia, China, Mexico, Kazakhstan, Belgium, Hong Kong & Taiwan, and Norway.
From Belgian waffles to Korean tteokbokki and Russian Spartak cake, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The creativity and dedication of our booth hosts were evident and deeply appreciated.
A standout moment of the day was the student Parade of Nations. Students proudly carried their home country flags and wore traditional attire, creating a vibrant and meaningful display of global pride. This moment truly reflected our school motto: Embracing Diversity, Striving for Excellence.
Throughout the day, middle and high school clubs hosted a lively game zone, offering activities such as face painting, slime-making, tie-dye, and trivia for children and families to enjoy.
At noon, students took to the stage with memorable performances, including:
- an uplifting tune on flute by the middle school trio,
- a dynamic Taekwondo demonstration led by Master Heo, and
- a colorful Bollywood dance performance led by Ms. Persuad, featuring a solo by middle school student Rithika.
The day concluded with raffle prizes and continued opportunities for families to connect, reconnect, and build new friendships. Our community members shared:
“My favorite part was that we got to do the parade because we got to show off our culture, and we got to be ourselves at the Spring Fair. It was really fun.” – Annaliese C. (G2)
“My favorite part was the Taekwondo demonstration. It was amazing. It felt good. Also, the food because they had different food from different places and it tasted very good.” – Jesús Rafael Sánchez Valencia (G4)
“I liked how there were different foods from different countries, so I got to try new things. I really liked the henna tattoo from India.” – Elizabeth Taylor (G5)
“I really enjoyed all of the performances, they were super fun.” – Nikki Harris (MS/HS Band Director)
More than just an event, the BFS Spring Fair was a celebration of our mission to foster an inclusive environment where every student feels a sense of belonging. It also served as a warm invitation to new families to join our community.
