In most cases, children with a learning disorder have trouble going through times of school. However, our protagonist, Lucy, is a character struck by lightning. While the right side of her brain shut down, her left side bolted with energy, allowing her to have a powerful bond with math. Because of this incident, Lucy is extremely astute and has 15 math college credits and she’s never been to school. She plans on non-enrolling for the rest of her life until she’s old enough for college. However, her nana disagrees. One random day, Nana suddenly tells Lucy to get in the car. Destination? Middle school. She survived a strike of lightning, but can she survive middle school? The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl have similarities with The GoldFish Boy and Fish in a Tree.
