Our annual Spirit Week event brought the entire school community together for an exciting week filled with creativity and school pride! Each day featured a dress-up theme that encouraged students and faculty to join in the fun.
We kicked off the week on Monday, January 19th with a meaningful celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on I Have a Dream Day. Students dressed as their future careers, showcasing big dreams and bright ambitions. From students dressed as doctors, police officers, K-pop stars, professional athletes, chefs, and more to teachers representing their future goals and retirement pastimes, the halls were filled with creativity and inspiration for a bright future.
On Tuesday, January 20th, the much-loved Pajama Day made its return! Cozy PJs and comfy vibes made this student-favorite theme a perfect way for Sharks of all ages to relax and enjoy the school day.
Wednesday, January 21st introduced a brand-new challenge: Monochrome Day. Students showed off their creativity by rocking head-to-toe outfits in a single color, proving that sometimes one color is all you need to make a bold statement. Classrooms were filled with standout looks, with black, gray, and pink emerging as some of the most popular choices of the day.
The energy continued on Thursday, January 22nd with Jersey/Sports Day. Students proudly repped their favorite teams with an amazing mix of baseball, soccer, American football, and basketball jerseys – along with BFS athletic gear – making it a fun celebration of sports and team spirit.
We wrapped up the week on Friday, January 23rd with our annual Fins Out Friday. Our Sharks swam in a sea of bright blue wearing this year’s BFS spirit t-shirt to show school unity and pride.
Spirit Week concluded with an exciting pep rally hosted by the Middle School and High School Student Councils on Friday:
- The classes with the highest spirit week participation in each Division were announced. Great job, PK3, Grade 4, Grade 6, and Grade 10!
- The pep rally also featured a whole-school free-throw competition with faculty, Elementary, Middle, and High School student teams resulting in an impressive performance by the Elementary team!
- A trio of MS band students Sunha, Gemma, and Hannah shared a calming flute performance.
- To top it off, a teacher team faced off against the High School basketball teams in a friendly match ending with an exciting win for the teacher team
This unforgettable week was full of energy, creativity, and school spirit. A huge thank you to Mr. Simnett and the HS Student Council for organizing and leading this week’s fantastic event!
