HUGE SHOUTOUT to our BFS High School Computer Science Honor Society for hosting Korea’s first-ever ScrapYard Hackathon this past weekend! Students from across Korea—including Busan, Daegu, and Seoul—came together to build clever, absurd, and totally useless projects… all in the name of fun! 💡💻
Inspired by their own hackathon experience earlier this year, our students, with guidance from Dr. Barnes and support from Hack Club, planned and executed this incredible event. They welcomed over 50 participants who deployed 18 unique projects! From reverse-eating Kirbys to quirky vending machines, the energy was electric, the ideas were wild, and the connections made will last long beyond the scrapyard. 🛠️🎉
This event was a true community effort. A massive congratulations to our student organizers, Dr. Barnes, student and parent volunteers, mentors (including a student from PNU & Dr. Jeong, a professor from UNIST), and BFS support staff for making this event an unforgettable success! 👏👏

This past weekend, 11 BFS Elementary students traveled to Seoul for the Korea International Music Educators Association (KIMEA) Elementary Choral Festival at Seoul Foreign School! They joined singers from 6 other international schools across Korea to make amazing music, build new friendships, and put on an unforgettable performance. Huge thanks to Mr. Henzi, Christy (G11), and the incredible team of directors who led and inspired the students throughout the weekend. MS Spanish Advanced students showcased their culinary skills! 🇪🇸✨ As part of their Cultura Gastronómica unit, they explored tapas, the Mediterranean Diet, and healthy eating. For their final project, they designed, prepared, and presented their own creative tapas like true Spanish chefs. 🍽️🔥 The event was a delicious success, with students sharing and evaluating each other`s creations!
