As the 2024-25 school year comes to an end, we celebrate all the positive growth made in our community. This year, we implemented our new vision and mission, focused on ensuring that all students feel welcomed and valued as they grow socially, emotionally, and academically. We will continue our efforts to develop inclusion and belonging across the school with our new Wayfinder counseling curriculum.
We also established the tiered discipline framework and implemented restorative practices. The purpose of this framework is to support students in taking responsibility for their actions and to repair relationships as students inevitably encounter conflicts. This approach is not permissive, and it does not allow students to get away with inappropriate behavior. While there are often punitive consequences for certain behaviors, this approach also ensures that students are accountable and understand the harm they have caused through repair conversations, so all can move forward.
This school year, the Haddon family invested in our facility with renovations throughout the school from the B1 Band Room to the 4F Science Labs. In summer 2025, we will continue to focus on facility upgrades, including:
- Leveling the ground and installing new turf on the field
- Renovating the cafeteria kitchen equipment and improving the flow of the food serving lines
- Replacing teachers’ desktop computers
This year, we continued our proud tradition of academic excellence with 97% of students scoring a 3 or higher on AP exams and BFS earning the AP Computer Science Female Diversity award for the sixth year in a row. In addition, our class of 2025 earned an impressive 60 college acceptances in the USA, UK, Canada, and Korea, and over $2.2 million US dollars in merit-based scholarships.
As we reflect on this year, we are thankful for our dedicated operations team of office staff, bus drivers, and cleaning staff who support our school; our talented teachers who nurture and motivate students; and our eager students and their caring parents and families. We appreciate the efforts of our dedicated Parent Teacher Support Organization (PTSO) to organize events that bring our community together.
As we continue to embrace diversity and strive for excellence, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our entire community for their ongoing support. We wish everyone a restful and enjoyable summer break!
Sincerely,
Ms. Harvey and Mr. Brenneman
