On December 15, 2025, Upper Elementary students in Grades 3 through 5 participated in the Science Learning Fair, working in pairs and small groups to present a wide range of research projects to parents and classmates. From magnets and animal adaptations to erosion and earthquakes, and hydroelectric engines and plant growth, our innovative scientists proudly shared their understanding of the world around them. The event highlighted the Shark Keep learning spirit, as students demonstrated critical thinking skills by researching questions, analyzing data, and developing problem-solving strategies. We look forward to Early Childhood and Lower Elementary students (Kindergarten through Grade 2) hosting their Science Learning Fair in Quarter 4.

Holiday cheer filled the gymnasium on Friday evening as the BFS Middle and High School Holiday Concert brought our community together for a festive night of music. Attended by staff and parents alike, the concert featured a selection of seasonal favorites, along with a special performance by our string quartet led by our very own Mr. Kuo. Under the direction of our MS/HS Music Teacher, Ms. Harris, the evening brought our community together through music and holiday spirit.

BFS students from Elementary to High School joined the world’s largest coding event, the International Coding Competition sponsored by Codementum as part of the global Hour of Code initiative.
Our High School Computer Science Honor Society (CSHS) led the event, guiding younger students through fun coding puzzles, logic challenges, and creative problem-solving activities.
From first-time coders to advanced programmers, students worked together, learned new skills, and connected with millions of learners around the world — proving that anyone can learn to code!

Our Grade 5 girls are taking part in a special Girls’ Lunch Bunch — a supportive lunchtime group focused on building confidence, strengthening friendships, and preparing for the transition to Middle School.
Each Monday, students gather to talk about friendships, feelings, and navigating peer relationships with kindness, respect, and courage. This program reinforces our BFS SHARK Values by helping students become Socially conscious, Hardworking, Active communicators, Respectful peers, and committed to Keep learning — both in and out of the classroom.

On Friday evening, our school community came together for the Elementary Art Showcase and Winter Concert, an event designed not only to celebrate student learning but also to spotlight the creativity and hard work of our young artists and performers.
The hallways were lined with student artwork, thoughtfully created throughout the quarter, offering families a chance to see the imagination, skill, and care that students put into their projects.
The celebration continued in the auditorium, where our Elementary musicians shared a heartwarming program of winter songs that brought smiles, applause, and a joyful start to the season.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Ms. Soohyun Hwang (Art) and Ms. Becki Pochon (Music) for guiding and inspiring our students, and to everyone who contributed to the success of the evening—including the Operations & Marketing teams, Mr. Jeff Kuo, Ms. Nikki Harris, the MS & HS student accompanists, and Ms. Park, our pianist.
