Last Saturday, our students proudly showcased their incredible creativity, teamwork, and dedication at the SKAIS STEM Fair. Over the past two months, these young scientists and engineers have worked tirelessly, exploring the realms of science and engineering to bring their projects to life.
Through meticulous research, design, experimentation, and problem-solving, they applied the scientific and engineering processes to address real-world challenges. Here are just a few examples of their innovative projects:
Elementary School Projects:
- Agatha, Hina, & Lea: What is the maximum temperature of water in a solar oven?
- Ayden & Daniel: What are the effects of acid rain on plants?
- Aarnik & Charlie: Engineering and designing a robotic hand
- Daniel Jung, Ryan, Jihyun, & Ari: Engineering and designing a paddle boat
Middle & High School Projects:
- Hannah K. (6): Computers/Engineering — What parachute design can land the space capsule closest to the landing point?
- Jeremy P. (7): Physics/Astronomy — Can electricity be generated from liquids? (2nd Place)
- Neel K. (8): Computers/Engineering — Creating a cost-friendly material that can insulate sound the most
- Yuanqiang W. (8): Physics/Astronomy — Exploring the Impact of Temperature on Magnet Strength: How Heat and Cold Influence Magnetic Properties
- Bobby L. and Andrew G. (8): Chemistry — WATER YOU DRINKING MS. TEMPEST?!
- Jayden L. and Robin M. (8): Biology — Music in the Pulse (2nd Place)
- Claire C. (9): Computers/Engineering — Wings of Speed: Unlocking F1 Downforce Secrets
During the fair, participants presented their projects to panels of judges, showcasing their deep understanding of STEM concepts, innovative problem-solving skills, and exceptional teamwork. Competing against other international school students in Korea, they demonstrated BFS’s commitment to excellence and creativity.
