Iain Macfarlane, the Principal of Busan Foriegn School, is excited to enter his third year of leading this amazing school. Prior to coming to BFS he served as the principal of an international school in Kuwait, where he worked for 8 years. A teacher at heart, Iain loves working with students, parents and teachers to create a community environment where all members embrace diversity and strive for excellence.

When he is not working, Iain loves spending time with his wife and son.

Carl Brenneman is excited to join the faculty of BFS as the assistant principal. He has taught middle school Humanities, high school English and World History, and worked as a K-8 curriculum coordinator at schools in the United States, Taiwan and Korea. In addition to teaching, he has served as middle school principal, gaining experience in school leadership and restorative justice practices. Coaching volleyball has always been a passion and has been a great way to positively connect with students and help them develop teamwork and skills to enjoy a lifelong sport. Outside of school he enjoys cooking healthy foods, reading and exploring trails in the forest or near the ocean.

Mr. Saunders will be starting his 13th year at Busan Foreign School as the Director of Admissions and College Counseling. His first career path took him to Washington, D.C. working in the U.S. Congress. While in Washington, D.C. he pursued his graduate degree earning an M.A. from American University. After trying his hand at the federal level of government, Mr. Saunders returned to his home state of Massachusetts taking on the role of chief of staff for a state senator in Boston. He left the world of politics and became manager of major corporate accounts for Akamai Technologies based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Mr. Saunders discovered his passion for teaching after volunteering at the Boston Area Red Cross, teaching history and civics to adults on the path to U.S. citizenship. Mr. Saunders’ transitioned to education over 15 years ago as he became a certified high school social studies teacher in the state of Massachusetts. He taught in the western suburbs of Boston before throwing his hat into the international teaching ring landing here at Busan Foreign School

Ms. Ness works as the K-12 School Counselor and School Psychologist at Busan Foreign School. She enjoys working with the community of learners at BFS, from preschoolers up to the senior class. Ms. Ness teaches counseling/guidance lessons in the lower school, and works individually with students in the middle and high school to support them through the academic and personal challenges they may encounter on their journey through adolescence. She coaches middle school and high school cross country in the fall, and running club/ HIT workout in the spring.

Outside of school, Ms. Ness enjoys trail running, spending time with her six year old, What’sApping with her nineteen year old who is at university, cooking up vegetarian food from around the globe, staying current on research and best practices in the field of School Psychology, camping in wild places in Korea, and reading any book that someone recommends to her.

Kristy Cressey is excited to be joining BFS team as the PK3 teacher. This will be Kristy’s 8th year as a teacher. She was born in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada. She received her B.Sc. at Laurentian University. After graduation, she did a year of unqualified teaching where she learned of her passion for education. Upon achieving her teaching credentials at Nipissing University, she went on to teach in Kuwait for two years, Brazil for one year and back home in Canada for 2 years.

In her free time, Kristy and her husband Scotty enjoy being parents to their two little boys, as a family they enjoy camping, hiking, bike rides and just generally being outdoors.

Brenda Aguilar will start her second year at BFS. She brings 7 years teaching experience in lower and upper elementary. Prior to her move to South Korea, she spent three years working at the American School Foundation in Monterrey, teaching fourth grade students and supporting reading and writing curriculum for the fourth grade team. Previously and during her time in the US, she taught kindergarten and second grade at a public charter school that focuses on bilingual education and project-based learning (Expeditionary Learning).

Brenda is originally from Los Angeles, California so she naturally enjoys exploring the outdoors; hiking, climbing, and discovering new places.

Scott Cressey was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. Growing up on the Great Lakes Scott developed a real love for the outdoors and the natural environment. Perusing this passion into adulthood he attended Lakehead University where he majored in Science and later Niagara College to acquire a digital mapping and data interpretation experience. Scott has had the opportunity to work on several environmental studies with both governmental and private groups. During his time as a field tech he happened upon an opportunity to teach and train and a new passion was born. After acquiring his teaching degree, Scott has had the opportunity to teach science at both the senior and junior level. He really enjoys sharing his love of science with the students of BFS and helping to inspire the critical thinkers of the future.

In his free time he enjoys traveling and being outdoors with his family.

Ms. Williams was teaching on tennis courts, soccer fields and outdoor adventures long before she made her way to the classroom. It has been her love of working with students that has kept Ms. Williams’ teaching for nearly 20 years. At BFS, Ms. Williams teaches math and Maker’s Space to grades 9 through 12 and coaches High School Girls Futsal.

Outside of school, Ms. Williams has a passion for all things outdoors. Whether hiking, camping, snowboarding or throwing rocks in a river, she is happiest when outside with friends or family. She also has a penchant for racquet sports, gardening and thrift-store shopping.

Patrick Galles joined BFS in 2016 as the BFS Shark Athletic Director and Physical Education Teacher (K-12). Mr. Galles came to BFS after spending a little more than two decades teaching and leading programs in Tokyo at an American international school quite similar in size and scope to BFS.

Originally from the state of Iowa in the U.S., Pat and his family have called northern Minnesota home since 1996, where, along with his siblings and parents operate an international summer camp program during the summer holidays.

As Mr. Galles enters his fourth year at BFS he is eager to continue working in support of all BFS students, and the Shark Athletic Program as a whole.

Aimee Demers begins her nineteenth year teaching and her fourth year at BFS. She is our K5-2 ELL specialist working closely with classroom teachers to support our youngest English Language Learners. Aimee was born in Providence, Rhode Island and raised in Los Angeles, California. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with Emphasis in Education, specialization in Child Development, and K-12 Multiple Subjects California Teaching Credential with English Learner (EL) Authorization and Cross-cultural, Language, and Academic Development (CLAD) certification from San Diego State University, has a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology, and an International English as an Additional Language (EAL) Certificate.

After teaching in San Diego, California for five years, Aimee ventured overseas to teach in international schools and has taught in London, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Mumbai. Aimee enjoys sharing her passion for teaching and love for learning with her students. Aimee and her family are thrilled to be living in beautiful Busan. Aimee loves the outdoors, long train trips, exploring nature, hiking, rollerblading, and spending time with her family and friends across the globe. Aimee feels fortunate to be a part of the BFS community and is looking forward to many new experiences shared with her colleagues, students, and their families this school year.

Ariana is thrilled to return to the BFS community as the K-4 teacher for her second year. Originally from the rural state of Pennsylvania, she was teaching Prekindergarten-3 in the tropical Philippines before moving to the mountainous region of South Korea. Ariana hopes to bring her early childhood passion with her wherever she goes.

In her spare time, Ariana enjoys reading, cooking, being active, spending time with friends and family, and going on crazy adventures. She looks forward to a great year of learning with her students!

Mark Ehrke comes to Busan from the International School of Beijing, where he has taught for the past 15 years. In addition to teaching Kindergarten there, he also taught Grade 1. Mark is originally from Minnesota, but has also lived and worked in Germany, Singapore, Vancouver, Canada, and San Jose, California. For Mark education is a two-way street. He strives to nurture the love of learning in children, but also endeavors continually to learn from the children he teaches.

Mark enjoys walking/hiking, swimming, reading, music, and working with computers, but particularly loves food and travel. When he visits other places, those two loves intersect with visits to markets, exploration of local ingredients and foods, cooking courses, and visits to restaurants/food outlets. Mark is very much looking forward to expanding his knowledge and experience with Korean food and culture while living in Busan. When he is not traveling, Mark is watching cooking shows from around the world, where he often finds inspiration when cooking for himself or others.

This is Miss Sterr’s fourth year on the BFS team. She is from a small town in Southeastern Wisconsin, and has been working with primary-age children for the past 9 years as a photographer, tutor, Au Pair, and teacher. She previously taught in Doha, Qatar and has also lived abroad in Prague.

In her free time she enjoys running, hiking, going to the beach, exploring, traveling, problem solving, and decorating.

Ms. Cleary is excited to begin her second year teaching Grade 2 at BFS! She was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. Her desire to be a teacher began early as she worked in YMCA outdoor youth camps. After graduating from high school, she moved to Bellingham, Washington, and began work on a degree in Sociology at Western Washington University. From there, she transferred to the University of Washington in Seattle where she finished her degree in Sociology and earned a K-8 Teaching Certificate. Since then, she has been teaching Kindergarten through Grade 5 in the Shoreline School District. Another highlight of her career was moving to Ankara, Turkey where she taught Grade 3 at Bilkent Laboratory and International School. During her years at BLIS, she enjoyed teaching the Primary Years Program.

Growing up and living in the Pacific Northwest she has taken advantage of wonderful outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, biking and camping. Traveling has also been a big part of Ms. Cleary’s life. However, one of my her favorite things to do is spend time with her son and daughter and their families.

Miss Boettcher grew up in Canada, right beside the Rocky Mountains. She has spent the past 20 years traveling the world and educating children. She has taught in Northern Canada, Thailand, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Columbia, Saudi Arabia and Busan.

When not traveling the world she enjoys reading, spending time with her nephews/niece and hiking. She is thrilled to be starting her second year at Busan Foreign School.

Ms. Hwang was born and raised in Korea and pursued her higher education in Vancouver, Canada. She has been teaching arts at Busan Foreign School for seventeen years. Ms. Hwang teaches from Elementary to AP Studio Art. Her teaching covers a gamut of arts ranging from visual concepts to theory for the elementary grades, to visual communication for AP Studio Art and G6 through G12. Her art classes provide students with the means to apply their art productions in a variety of media within the contexts of critical thinking and broaden their social perspectives.

Ms. Hwang is married and has one daughter. In her free time, she enjoys creating and painting pictures. She also loves traveling, exploring new cultures with her family, and collecting minerals with her daughter.

Becki Pochon was raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She graduated from Liberty University in Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education. Mrs. Pochon taught music and choir for 4 years at Danville Public Schools in Virginia. After getting married in July 2018, Mrs. Pochon moved to Busan to be with her husband.

In the past year Mrs. Pochon has taken continuing education courses through Colorado State University-Pueblo on Creating a Safe Learning Environment and Growth Mindsets. In her free time, Mrs. Pochon enjoys spending time with her husband, singing karaoke, playing ukulele and piano, taking Hangul classes, and video talking with her family in America.

Mrs. Pochon is very excited to begin teaching at Busan Foreign School.

A long way from his home in Sewanee, Tennessee, Mr. Huffman is returning to BFS to teach computer science. Having been a lifelong gamer, Mr. Huffman began his coding education at Macalester College in 2009 and four years later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science. He worked as a software developer in Minneapolis, Minnesota for two years, before changing gears and pursuing a teaching career. In addition to teaching Computer Science, he has experience being an RA and teaching ESL.

In his spare time, Mr. Huffman is an avid gamer and a cook. He is currently trying to learn how to speak and cook Korean.

Ms. Gleb grew up on Vashon Island, Washington; her father and mother were both teachers. After university, she became an officer in the United States Air Force, serving tours of duty in South Carolina and Oklahoma in the United States, England, and Turkey. She has been teaching for 18 years; prior to moving to Busan, she taught for three years in Ankara, the capitol of Turkey.

Heidi’s passions are traveling, reading, and volksmarching (non-competitive walking). Her frequent travel companion is her identical twin sister; they enjoy visiting UNESCO World Heritage sites. Heidi hopes her son, Jack, will be able to visit her as well. She is excited to return for her second year of working as a BFS SHARK!

Miss Aguerre is Uruguayan and Spanish. She studied teaching in Uruguay and specialized in primary education to later dedicate herself to teaching Spanish as a foreign language. Her passion for teaching, the desire to learn about different cultures and to travel led her to teach and live in different countries and to study her Euro Latin American master in Intercultural education.

Some of the countries in which Ms. Aguerre lived and work as a teacher are Uruguay, Spain, USA, UK, Ireland, Kuwait, Tanzania.

Miss Aguerre loves to travel, dance Latin rhythms, cook, read, help and participate in activities related to volunteering.

Heejin Lee joined BFS as a high school tutor, and has been working as a part of the BFS team for over 10 years. She has a variety of experience in different educational areas and age groups. Although she majored in science, her interest in different languages and cultures led her to a deeper study of her mother tongue, and becoming a Korean Language teacher. She incorporates Korean cultural activities to her classes in order to make them more joyful. Miss Lee is very excited to support our students’ growth emotionally, socially as well as academically. In her free time, she likes going to the movies and Art galleries, loves taking photos and rendering them into beautiful paintings. She is looking forward to meeting new BFS families and very excited to bring more culture- related activities to the Korean classes this year.

She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with Emphasis in Education, specialization in Child Development, and K-12 Multiple Subjects California Teaching Credential with English Learner (EL) Authorization and Cross-cultural, Language, and Academic Development (CLAD) certification from San Diego State University, has a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology, and an International English as an Additional Language (EAL) Certificate.

After teaching in San Diego, California for five years, Aimee ventured overseas to teach in international schools and has taught in London, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Mumbai. Aimee enjoys sharing her passion for teaching and love for learning with her students. Aimee and her family are thrilled to be living in beautiful Busan. Aimee loves the outdoors, long train trips, exploring nature, hiking, rollerblading, and spending time with her family and friends across the globe. Olga So starts her eleventh year at BFS. She is excited and proud to be an upper Elementary ELL teacher. I am very excited to be joining the team at BFS. After teaching special education and reading for over 20 years in Arizona and Oregon I decided that I wanted to explore the world of education outside the U.S. My education and personal journeys have taken me to Nigeria, Zimbabwe and Egypt before coming to Korea. In Nigeria, I was the Learning Support Coordinator as well as the behavior intervention specialist for grades K-12 at the International School in Abuja. In Zimbabwe, I was the Learning Support Specialist for grades K-3 and the PYP program at the Harare International School. I also lead assessment trainings for the elementary staff. In Egypt, I was the Learning Support and ESL teacher for Grade 3 at The American International School in Egypt.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, hiking, running, reading, cooking, and going to baseball and football games!

Sarah’s goal is to build strong relationships with her students in order to support their development as avid thinkers, readers, writers, and engaged citizens of the world around them.

In her spare time, Sarah loves to travel, read, listen to music, hang out with her cat Mucha and dog Meg, go on bike rides, and spend time with friends and family.

Erik Nelson is a graduate of Texas Christian University in History and holds an Elementary Education degree from Montana State University. Two weeks after graduating from T.C.U.. Erik moved to the wilds of West Yellowstone, Montana where he lived in a one room log cabin on Hebgen Lake for twelve years. His fondness of the wilderness inspired him to become a wildlife photographer. He now has a little “ranch” outside of Ennis, Montana with his wife Christy.

Erik enjoys hiking throughout the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, camping with his family, is an avid reader, and enjoys painting wildlife portraits in acrylic. He also rips on the harmonica and is a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. He is married to Christy Nelson, an elementary teacher here at Busan Foreign School, and has two children, Mason Lee, 8 and Elsie Mae, 5.

Erik has enjoyed the world of international teaching and all it has to offer. He and his family have spent two years in Kuwait and are very excited to enjoy the mountains of Busan.

Hailing from rural Pennsylvania, Megan Boyle’s path to teaching began in 2008 when she went to college in New Hampshire to get her degree in English Teaching from the University of New Hampshire, where she also received minors in Deaf Studies and Environmental Conservation. She studied abroad in London during her junior year, where she took drama, art, and literature classes. After graduating with honors from UNH in 2012, Ms. Boyle worked in a small town in New Hampshire, teaching high school English to grades 9-12 for three years. In 2015, she moved to Austria, where she worked as a Resident Assistant and teacher at the American International School Salzburg for one year. She has traveled much of Europe and the continental US, and is looking forward to the chance to explore some of Asia throughout her time at BFS. This year, her fourth year at BFS, she will be teaching Senior English, American Literature, AP Literature, and Intro to Literature. She looks forward to working with her students to create well-rounded, articulate global citizens.

Meghan Leland joins Busan Foreign School from Bozeman, Montana, where she was born and raised. After graduating with honors, earning a bachelor’s degree in English with dual emphasis in Literature and Teaching as well as a minor in Art History from the University of Montana in Missoula, Ms. Leland moved back to Bozeman to live with her parents and work as a substitute teacher for two years before moving to Busan.

Ms. Leland is a big fan of reading, the Oxford comma, and chocolate. After spending the summer in the States with her family eating delicious turkey sandwiches, Ms. Leland will return to BFS for her seventh year. She will teach AP Research, AP Seminar, Senior English, and Language Arts 11.

This is Mr. Neeno’s 18th year of teaching abroad, having taught in eight countries on four continents. Mr. Neeno is originally from Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in the Midwest until he discovered the joys of exploring the world. Mr. Neeno remains a student of history, as well as science, music, and religion. He enjoys writing, having written articles for magazines and encyclopedias. Mr. Neeno is currently working on collecting his researches and blogs about the places he has traveled to into a book. In the classroom he stresses debate, as it it teaches research skills, reasoning, team work, and backing up what you say with evidence. He has coached teams in Kuwait to victories in debate competitions in the Middle East, as well as Model UN, and Academic Games/Quiz Bowl.

In his spare time Mr. Neeno loves history and travel. He also enjoy music, and hiking. He is currently studying Korean, and discovering more about his fascinating host country every day. He is always trying to broaden his horizons, and learn more about this world and its many peoples.

He is passionate about developing independence and self-efficacy in his students so that they can achieve their learning goals.

Matthew Hanawalt is entering his fifteenth year of teaching and first year at BFS. He started his career teaching at the middle school level in his home state of Iowa in the United States. The previous nine years were spent teaching all levels of high school mathematics at the American School Foundation of Monterrey in Mexico. In the classroom, his goal is to establish an enjoyable classroom culture where students understand mathematics at a deep level. He believes in using investigative-based lessons to help students understand the connections among topics.

Outside of the classroom, Matthew enjoys visiting family and friends, traveling, reading, golf, and running.

Born in Seoul, Korea, Mr. Yang spent most of his childhood in various countries – mainly in Russia, Thailand, China, and the United States. As a former student of international schools himself, he loves being part of the diverse and family-like community that are unique to schools like BFS. In 2015, after completing his mandatory military service in the Korean air force, Mr. Yang found his passion for teaching when he taught at QSI International School of Minsk in Belarus. His connection with BFS began as a student teacher in 2017. Knowing how friendly, energetic, and talented the BFS family is, he is excited and honored to be able to return to BFS, situated in one of the most beautiful coastal cities in Korea.

Mr. Yang loves playing all kinds of sports. Tennis, which he used to play competitively in high school, is one of his favorites. In addition, he is a certified ice hockey referee in Korea. In his spare time, he enjoys playing sports and spending time with friends. Mr. Yang will be teaching 6th and 7th grade Mathematics, Makerspace, and AP Economics.

It has been her love of working with students that has kept Ms. Williams’ teaching for nearly 20 years. At BFS, Ms. Williams teaches math and Maker’s Space to grades 9 through 12 and coaches High School Girls Futsal.

Outside of school, Ms. Williams has a passion for all things outdoors. Whether hiking, camping, snowboarding or throwing rocks in a river, she is happiest when outside with friends or family. She also has a penchant for racquet sports, gardening and thrift-store shopping.

Scott Cressey was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. Growing up on the Great Lakes Scott developed a real love for the outdoors and the natural environment. Perusing this passion into adulthood he attended Lakehead University where he majored in Science and later Niagara College to acquire a digital mapping and data interpretation experience. Scott has had the opportunity to work on several environmental studies with both governmental and private groups. During his time as a field tech he happened upon an opportunity to teach and train and a new passion was born. After acquiring his teaching degree, Scott has had the opportunity to teach science at both the senior and junior level. He really enjoys sharing his love of science with the students of BFS and helping to inspire the critical thinkers of the future.

Afterwards, Mr. Lee moved to South Korea to teach high school science at BFS. He has greatly enjoyed the Korean culture surrounding him.

Her teaching covers a gamut of arts ranging from visual concepts to theory for the elementary grades, to visual communication for AP Studio Art and G6 through G12. Her art classes provide students with the means to apply their art productions in a variety of media within the contexts of critical thinking and broaden their social perspectives.

Ms. Hwang is married and has one daughter. In her free time, she enjoys creating and painting pictures. She also loves traveling, exploring new cultures with her family, and collecting minerals with her daughter.

Patrick Galles joined BFS in 2016 as the BFS Shark Athletic Director and Physical Education Teacher (K-12). Mr. Galles came to BFS after spending a little more than two decades teaching and leading programs in Tokyo at an American international school quite similar in size and scope to BFS.

Originally from the state of Iowa in the U.S., Pat and his family have called northern Minnesota home since 1996, where, along with his siblings and parents operate an international summer camp program during the summer holidays.

As Mr. Galles enters his fourth year at BFS he is eager to continue working in support of all BFS students, and the Shark Athletic Program as a whole.

A long way from his home in Sewanee, Tennessee, Mr. Huffman is returning to BFS to teach computer science. Having been a lifelong gamer, Mr. Huffman began his coding education at Macalester College in 2009 and four years later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science. He worked as a software developer in Minneapolis, Minnesota for two years, before changing gears and pursuing a teaching career. In addition to teaching Computer Science, he has experience being an RA and teaching ESL.

Dr. Dylan Barnes comes to BFS from Tampa, FL. He grew up in New Jersey and found his devotion for teaching and mentoring as a teenager serving as a summer camp counselor and director. Dr. Barnes received his bachelor’s degree in secondary social science education from the University of South Florida and also holds a secondary technology education certificate in the state of Florida. Additionally, Dr. Barnes completed his master’s degree and doctorate in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction, respectively.

Dr. Barnes is a strong advocate for life-long learning. As an educator, Mr. Barnes strives not only to instruct on various topics of study, but to facilitate learning through practical, real-world application and critical thinking that will continue to benefit students outside of the classroom.

In his spare time, Mr. Barnes enjoys many diverse interests, but mostly spends his time playing ice hockey, reading, drinking coffee, and enjoying the tactile processes of analog photography.

Heidi’s passions are traveling, reading, and volksmarching (non-competitive walking). Her frequent travel companion is her identical twin sister; they enjoy visiting UNESCO World Heritage sites. For years, she looked forward to teaching abroad, and will be returning to BFS for her third year, where she will be the high school Spanish teacher. Ms. Taylor is passionate about Spanish and traveling, has been to many Spanish speaking countries, and has led student homestay programs in Mexico.

Ms. Taylor enjoys spending time with her adult children, who live in the Chicagoland area as well. She also enjoys spending time outdoors and in nature by sailing, hiking, and scuba diving, and continues to do these in Busan and Asia. In addition, Ms. Taylor loves listening to music, going to concerts and riding her motorcycle.

She incorporates Korean cultural activities to her classes in order to make them more joyful. Miss Lee is very excited to support our students’ growth emotionally, socially as well as academically. In Zimbabwe, I was the Learning Support Specialist for grades K-3 and the PYP program at the Harare International School. I also lead assessment trainings for the elementary staff. In Egypt, I was the Learning Support and ESL teacher for Grade 3 at The American International School in Egypt.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, hiking, running, reading, cooking, and going to baseball and football games!

Ms. Kim holds a Master’s degree in Education and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Busan University of Foreign Studies. She also holds a secondary school teaching certificate. Additionally, Ms. Kim is a certified Korean language instructor. She has extensive experience teaching Korean and traditional Korean percussion. Ms. Kim is one of our veteran faculty and has been with Busan Foreign School for over sixteen years!

Ms. Jang is from Haeundae, Busan and has been working at Busan Foreign School for seven years. She graduated from Hanyang University in Seoul with a BA in English Literature. Prior to BFS, Ms. Jang studied and worked in the U.S.A and Mexico. This helped improve her English and Spanish communication skills. Ms. Jang has volunteered in a variety of children English camps teaching and assisting the children. In 2018, she earned a master’s in English Education and Secondary Teaching and certification at Pukyung University.

At Busan Foreign School, she primarily supports admission inquiries and student enrollment paperwork. In her free time, she enjoys traveling around the world.

Ms. Chang has bachelors’ degree in Computer Engineering from Pukyong National University.

This is Ms. Chang’s second year at BFS. Although having worked for several international organizations, it is her experience as a volunteer in Ukraine, teaching and helping children, that prompted her to apply to BFS.

Hyun Suk Kim graduated from Busan Catholic University with a major in Clinical Pathology. She has a license as a clinical pathologist. She has worked at the children’s hospital and Health Promotion Center for 10 years. She also majored in English literature at the Korean National Open University. Last year she took the Korea Red Cross certificate for first- aid. Ms. Kim is always ready to help students when they need her.

Jason Lee joined BFS June 2017. He has a strong background in finance and strategy. His past experience includes five and a half years as a management consultant at Deloitte, and a year working in the strategy department of Hyundai Motor Group. Jason spent one year in London pursuing an MBA.

During his spare time Jason enjoys playing golf, and spending time with his family.

Ms. Allepuz, a native of Barcelona (Spain), is starting her fifth year at Busan Foreign School and looking forward to letting the world know about Busan Foreign School. After graduating from Brussels (Belgium) she started working for an American consultancy firm while pursuing her masters in international management. Ms. Allepuz further developed managing complex projects, working within intercultural teams, coaching, and training staff in customer service organizations while becoming an expert in a in a wide array of industries like utilities, banking, logistics for highly professional and reputable companies, such as,ABN AMRO Bank, DHL and APM Terminals to name a few. Having lived and worked on three continents and being a mother of four children (three of them attending BFS), she knows how important the school community is for expatriate parents as well as how critical it is for parents to understand what the school they are sending their children to is truly all about. Ms. Allepuz is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Italian. She is looking forward to seeing BFS grow in the hearts of its parents, students, teachers, and broader community, as well as solidifying BFS’ image as the American international school of choice for the English speaking community of Busan.

Ms. Choi started her career at BFS after graduating from Changwon National University. While in College, she worked on marketing projects for the Korea Airport Corporation (KAC), and Changwon City. She received a grand award for her designs from the Korea Airport Corporation. Ms. Choi understands the importance that good design plays in communicating with stakeholders.
