Iain Macfarlane, the Principal of Busan Foriegn School, is excited to enter his third year of leading this amazing school. Prior to coming to BFS he served as the principal of an international school in Kuwait, where he worked for 8 years. A teacher at heart, Iain loves working with students, parents and teachers to create a community environment where all members embrace diversity and strive for excellence.

When he is not working, Iain loves spending time with his wife and son.

Lauren Harvey has been an educator for over fifteen years in a variety of leadership and teaching positions in Indiana and Korea. She is an experienced teacher, teacher educator, and educational program administrator. As Vice Principal, Mrs. Harvey is involved in curriculum and instruction, teacher mentoring and professional development, course and activities scheduling, student discipline, and ACS WASC accreditation.

Mrs. Harvey enjoys spending time with her husband, Joe, and daughter, Kelila, a BFS 6th grader.

Mr. Saunders will be starting his 12th year at Busan Foreign School as the Director of Admissions and College Counseling. His first career path took him to Washington, D.C. working in the U.S. Congress. While in Washington, D.C. he pursued his graduate degree earning an M.A. from American University. After trying his hand at the federal level of government, Mr. Saunders returned to his home state of Massachusetts taking on the role of chief of staff for a state senator in Boston. He left the world of politics and became manager of major corporate accounts for Akamai Technologies based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Mr. Saunders discovered his passion for teaching after volunteering at the Boston Area Red Cross, teaching history and civics to adults on the path to U.S. citizenship. Mr. Saunders’ transitioned to education over 15 years ago as he became a certified high school social studies teacher in the state of Massachusetts. He taught in the western suburbs of Boston before throwing his hat into the international teaching ring landing here at Busan Foreign School

Ms. Ness is thrilled to be joining the BFS family after working in Oregon public schools for the past fifteen years as a first grade teacher, behavior consultant/specialist, special education teacher and , school psychologist/counselor. Her passion is to be in classrooms teaching friendship and social skills, problem solving with children on the playground, facilitating peer connections at the elementary and high school level, and working with students individually to boost their academic, social-emotional and organizational skills. She enjoys coaching cross-country and advising clubs, especially at the high school level, to connect with students outside of the school day.

Outside of work you will find Ms. Ness spending time with her family, running on trails with her little white dog Stella, cooking up vegetarian food from around the globe, camping in wild places, reading any book that someone recommends to her, and planning interesting weekend adventures.

This is Miss Sterr’s third year on the BFS team. She is from a small town in Southeastern Wisconsin, and has been working with primary-age children for the past 9 years as a photographer, tutor, Au Pair, and teacher. She recently taught in Doha, Qatar and has also lived abroad in Prague.

In her free time Amber enjoys running, hiking, going to the beach, exploring, traveling, problem solving, and decorating.

Scott Cressey was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. Growing up on the Great Lakes Scott developed a real love for the outdoors and the natural environment. Perusing this passion into adulthood he attended Lakehead University where he majored in Science and later Niagara College to acquire a digital mapping and data interpretation experience. Scott has had the opportunity to work on several environmental studies with both governmental and private groups. During his time as a field tech he happened upon an opportunity to teach and train and a new passion was born. After acquiring his teaching degree, Scott has had the opportunity to teach science at both the senior and junior level. He really enjoys sharing his love of science with the students of BFS and helping to inspire the critical thinkers of the future.

In his free time he enjoys traveling and being outdoors with his family.

Mr. Gates is a native of La Crosse, Wisconsin and is enjoying his sixth year teaching secondary mathematics at Busan Foreign School. In addition to teaching, Mr. Gates has also enjoyed various coaching opportunities, including middle school and high school basketball and baseball.

In his free time, he enjoys learning about new things and cultures, listening to music, watching sports, and staying active. He is grateful for all of the opportunities and challenges presented during his time teaching at BFS, both in and out of the classroom.

Patrick Galles joined BFS in 2016 as the BFS Shark Athletic Director and Physical Education Teacher (K-12). Mr. Galles came to BFS after spending a little more than two decades teaching and leading programs in Tokyo at an American international school quite similar in size and scope to BFS. Originally from the state of Iowa in the U.S., Patrick and his family have called northern Minnesota home since 1996, where, along with his siblings and parents operate an international summer camp program during the summer holidays.

As Mr. Galles enters his third year at BFS he is eager to continue working in support of all BFS students, and the Shark Athletic Program as a whole.

Mr. Chapa has taught at Busan Foreign School since 2013. He has taught a variety of music classes, clubs, and student organizations during his time at BFS. He now teaches early childhood and elementary music. Mr. Chapa is also a member of the Korea International Music Educators Association. Born and raised in Lapeer Michigan, he graduated with honors from Western Michigan University earning a degree in Music Education.

In his spare time, Mr. Chapa continues to perform professionally as a jazz musician and guest artist throughout Korea.

Kristy Cressey is excited to be joining BFS team as the PK3 teacher. This will be Kristy’s 6th year as a teacher. She was born in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada. She received her B.Sc. at Laurentian University. After graduation, she did a year of unqualified teaching where she learned of her passion for education. Upon achieving her teaching credentials at Nipissing University, she went on to teach in Kuwait for two years, Brazil for one year and back home in Canada for 2 years.

In her free time, Kristy and her husband Scotty enjoy being parents to their two little boys, as a family they enjoy camping, hiking, bike rides and just generally being outdoors.

This is Ms. Tsoy’s second year on the BFS team as a Russian language teacher. Ms. Tsoy came to Korea from Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 2012. Through teaching she wants to inspire students with her passion for knowledge and she is so thrilled to share her love for learning with her students.

Ms. Tsoy loves to teach, travel, read, paint and watch movies. In her spare time, Ms. Tsoy volunteers and helps in an orphanage and a nursing home.

Ariana is thrilled to be joining the BFS community this year as the Kindergarten-4 teacher. For the past three years, she has been teaching at Brent International School Manila as the Prekindergarten-3 teacher. Ariana is excited to be taking her early childhood passion from the tropics of the Philippines to the mountainous region of South Korea.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, being active and spending time with friends and family. Ariana looks forward to all the challenges, inside and outside the classroom, and learning to love kimchi.

Jasenka Besic comes to South Korea from Atlanta, Georgia. She received a Master of Arts in Teaching in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Oglethorpe University. She has taught both internationally in Africa and Europe as well as the U.S.

In her free time, you can find her hiking, traveling, or learning new languages.

Ms. Cleary is very excited to be moving to BFS to teach second grade! She was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. Her desire to be a teacher began early as she worked in YMCA outdoor youth camps. After graduating from high school, she moved to Bellingham, Washington, and began work on a degree in Sociology at Western Washington University. From there, she transferred to the University of Washington in Seattle where she finished her degree in Sociology and earned a K-8 Teaching Certificate. Since then, she has been teaching Kindergarten through Grade 5 in the Shoreline School District. Another highlight of her career was moving to Ankara, Turkey where she taught Grade 3 at Bilkent Laboratory and International School. During her years at BLIS, she enjoyed teaching the Primary Years Program.

Growing up and living in the Pacific Northwest she has taken advantage of wonderful outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, biking and camping. Traveling has also been a big part of Ms. Cleary’s life. However, one of my her favorite things to do is spend time with her son and daughter and their families.

Miss Boettcher grew up in Canada, right beside the Rocky Mountains. She has spent the past 20 years traveling the world and educating children. She has taught in Northern Canada, Thailand, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Columbia and Saudi Arabia.

When not traveling the world she enjoys reading, spending time with her nephews and painting. She is thrilled to be moving out of the desert and back to mountains with a lot of good hiking.

Brenda is looking forward to starting a new chapter of her life working at Busan Foreign School as a fourth grade teacher. Prior to her move to South Korea, she spent three years working at the American School Foundation in Monterrey, teaching fourth grade students and supporting reading and writing curriculum for the fourth grade team. Previously and during her time in the US, she taught kindergarten and second grade at a public charter school that focuses on bilingual education and project-based learning (Expeditionary Learning).

Brenda is originally from Los Angeles, California so she naturally enjoys exploring the outdoors; hiking, climbing, and discovering new places.

Ms. Hwang was born and raised in Korea and pursued her higher education in Vancouver, Canada. She has been teaching arts at Busan Foreign School for sixteen years. Ms. Hwang teaches from Elementary to AP Studio Art. Her teaching covers a gamut of arts ranging from visual concepts to theory for the elementary grades, to visual communication for AP Studio Art and G6 through G12. Her art classes provide students with the means to apply their art productions in a variety of media within the contexts of critical thinking and broaden their social perspectives.

Ms. Hwang is married and has one daughter. In her free time, she enjoys creating and painting pictures. She also loves traveling, exploring new cultures with her family, and collecting minerals with her daughter.

A long way from his home in Sewanee, Tennessee, Mr. Huffman is returning to BFS for his second year teaching computer science. Having been a lifelong gamer, Mr. Huffman began his coding education at Macalester College in 2009 and four years later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science. He worked as a software developer in Minneapolis, Minnesota for two years, before changing gears and pursuing a teaching career. In addition to teaching Computer Science, he has experience being an RA and teaching ESL.

In his spare time, Mr. Huffman is an avid gamer and a cook. He is currently trying to learn how to speak and cook Korean.

Ms. Gleb grew up on Vashon Island, Washington; her father and mother were both teachers. After university, she became an officer in the United States Air Force, serving tours of duty in South Carolina, Oklahoma, England, and Turkey. She has been teaching for 17 years, the last three of which were spent in Turkey. Heidi’s passions are travelling, reading, and volksmarching (non-competitive walking) and her frequent travel companion is her identical twin sister; they enjoy visiting UNESCO World Heritage sites. Heidi hopes her son, Jack, will be able to visit her as well. She is excited for the opportunity to live in Busan and to join the team at BFS.

Miss Aguerre is Uruguayan and Spanish. She studied teaching in Uruguay and specialized in primary education to later dedicate herself to teaching Spanish as a foreign language. Her passion for teaching, the desire to learn about different cultures and to travel led her to teach and live in different countries and to study her Euro Latin American master in Intercultural education.

Miss Aguerre loves to travel, dance Latin rhythms, cook, read, help and participate in activities related to volunteering.

Heejin Lee joined BFS as a high school tutor, and has been working as a part of the BFS team for over 7 years. She has a variety of experience in different educational areas and age groups. Although she majored in science, her interest in different languages and cultures led her to a deeper study of her mother tongue, and becoming a Korean Language teacher. She incorporates Korean cultural activities to her classes to make them more fun. Ms. Lee looks forward to meeting BFS families. She is very excited to support our students’ growth emotionally, socially as well as academically.

In her free time, Ms. Lee loves taking photos and rendering them into beautiful paintings.

Aimee Demers begins her eighteenth year teaching and her third year at BFS. She is excited and proud to join the ELL team, working closely with K-2 classroom teachers to support our youngest English Language Learners. Aimee was born in Providence, Rhode Island and raised in Los Angeles, California. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with Emphasis in Education, specialization in Child Development, and Multiple Subjects California Teaching Credential with CLAD (English Learner (EL) Authorization and Cross-cultural, Language, and Academic Development) certification from San Diego State University and has a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology.

After teaching in San Diego, California for five years, Aimee ventured overseas to teach in international schools and has taught in London, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Mumbai. Aimee enjoys sharing her passion for teaching and love for learning with her students. Aimee and her family are thrilled to be living in beautiful Busan. Aimee loves the outdoors, long train trips, exploring nature, hiking, rollerblading, and spending time with her family and friends across the globe. Aimee feels fortunate to be a part of the BFS community and is looking forward to many new experiences shared with her colleagues, students, and their families this school year.

Olga So starts her tenth year at BFS. She is excited and proud to be an upper Elementary ELL teacher. Olga was born in Sakhalin Island, Russia and lived in Seattle, Washington and Redondo Beach, California. She holds Master of Arts in Elementary Education and Montessori Teaching Diploma. She is a member of Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) and Phi Delta Kappa International since 2006. Olga So has taught diverse students in the U.S.A. and Korea. She has worked on curriculum development, leadership teams, and various other committees throughout her career. Olga So, her husband, and their high school daughter are thrilled to be part of BFS community. She is passionate about children, cultures, languages, reading, traveling, and learning.

Ms. Jones is proud to be a member of the BFS team. Before coming to Korea, she spent the last 13 years teaching English, Reading Intervention, and Social Studies in Topeka, Kansas. Ms. Jones is the teacher for 6th grade English Language Arts, 6th grade Ancient History, and 7th grade Geography.

In her free time she enjoys traveling, reading, and outdoor activities. She likes hiking and exploring Busan and the surrounding areas. She is looking forward to another wonderful year at BFS.

Erik Nelson is a graduate of Texas Christian University in History and holds an Elementary Education degree from Montana State University. Two weeks after graduating from T.C.U.. Erik moved to the wilds of West Yellowstone, Montana where he lived in a one room log cabin on Hebgen Lake for twelve years. His fondness of the wilderness inspired him to become a wildlife photographer. He now has a little “ranch” outside of Ennis, Montana with his wife Christy.

Erik enjoys hiking throughout the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, camping with his family, is an avid reader, and enjoys painting wildlife portraits in acrylic. He also rips on the harmonica and is a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. He is married to Christy Nelson, an elementary teacher here at Busan Foreign School, and has two children, Mason Lee, 8 and Elsie Mae, 5.

Erik has enjoyed the world of international teaching and all it has to offer. He and his family have spent two years in Kuwait and are very excited to enjoy the mountains of Busan.

Hailing from rural Pennsylvania, Megan Boyle’s path to teaching began in 2008 when she went to college in New Hampshire to get her degree in English Teaching from the University of New Hampshire. Here, she also received minors in Deaf Studies and Environmental Conservation. She studied abroad in London during her junior year, where she took drama, art, and literature classes. After graduating with honors from UNH in 2012, Ms. Boyle worked in a small town in New Hampshire, teaching high school English to grades 9-12 for three years. In 2015, she moved to Austria, where she worked as a Resident Assistant and teacher at the American International School Salzburg for one year. She has traveled much of Europe and the continental US, and is looking forward to the chance to explore some of Asia throughout her time at BFS. This year, her third year at BFS, she will be teaching Senior English, American Literature, AP Language, and Intro to Literature. She looks forward to working with her students to create well-rounded, articulate global citizens.

Meghan Leland joins Busan Foreign School from Bozeman, Montana, where she was born and raised. After graduating with honors, earning a bachelor’s degree in English with dual emphasis in Literature and Teaching as well as a minor in Art History from the University of Montana in Missoula, Ms. Leland moved back to Bozeman to live with her parents and work as a substitute teacher for two years before moving to Busan.

Ms. Leland is a big fan of reading, the Oxford comma, and chocolate. After spending the summer in the States with her family eating delicious turkey sandwiches, Ms. Leland will return to BFS for her sixth year. She will teach AP Research, AP Seminar, Senior English, and Language Arts 11.

This is Mr. Neeno’s 17th year of teaching abroad, having taught in eight countries on four continents. Mr. Neeno is originally from Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in the Midwest until he discovered the joys of exploring the world. Mr. Neeno remains a student of history, as well as science, music, and religion. He enjoys writing, having written articles for magazines and encyclopedias. Mr. Neeno is currently working on collecting his researches and blogs about the places he has traveled to into a book. In the classroom he stresses debate, as it it teaches research skills, reasoning, team work, and backing up what you say with evidence. He has coached teams in Kuwait to victories in debate competitions in the Middle East, as well as Model UN, and Academic Games/Quiz Bowl.

In his spare time Mr. Neeno loves history and travel. He also enjoy music, and hiking. He is currently studying Korean, and discovering more about his fascinating host country every day. He is always trying to broaden his horizons, and learn more about this world and its many peoples.

Ms. Wiehe is looking forward to another wonderful year at BFS! She has a degree in Teaching Social Studies from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She has spent time teaching a wide variety of students all over the world including Irish, Somali, Korean, Russian, and American students. She is looking forward to teaching AP Psychology, US History, Sociology, and American Government/Economics this year. She is the adviser for both High School Student Council and High School Drama Club. This is her third year at BFS.

In her spare time, Ms. Wiehe loves reading, watching superhero or sci-fi movies and shows, listening to podcasts, traveling, and dancing. She is looking forward to traveling even more this year around Asia! Let’s go Sharks!

Born in Seoul, Korea, Mr. Yang spent most of his childhood in various countries – mainly in Russia, Thailand, China, and the United States. As a former student of international schools himself, he loves being part of the diverse and family-like community that are unique to schools like BFS. In 2015, after completing his mandatory military service in the Korean air force, Mr. Yang found his passion for teaching when he taught at QSI International School of Minsk in Belarus. His connection with BFS began as a student teacher in 2017. Knowing how friendly, energetic, and talented the BFS family is, he is excited and honored to be able to
return to BFS, situated in one of the most beautiful coastal cities in Korea.

Mr. Yang loves playing all kinds of sports. Tennis, which he used to play competitively in high school, is one of his favorites. In addition, he recently became a certified ice hockey referee in Korea. In his spare time, he enjoys playing sports and spending time with friends. Mr. Yang will be teaching 6th and 7th grade Mathematics, Makerspace, and AP Economics.

Ms. Williams is very excited to be joining the BFS community for the 2018/2019 school year. Herprofessional experience includes a breadth of teaching roles–ranging from math teacher of Grade 4 though AP Calculus, Outdoor Educator and trip leader, and Dean of Students. In each of her roles, she has been firm in her conviction that 1) the path to a fulfilling a quality education will be different for each student and 2) education and character development happen alongside one-another in and out of the classroom. In Ms. Williams’ nearly 20 years of working with students, she has realized that herpassion for teaching centers mostly
around herlove of working with and getting to know students.

Outside of school, Ms. Williams has a passion for all things outdoors. Whether hiking, camping, snowboarding or throwing rocks in a river, she is happiest when outside with friends or family. She also hasa penchant for racquet sports, gardening and thrift-store shopping.

Scott Cressey was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. Growing up on the Great Lakes Scott developed a real love for the outdoors and the natural environment. Perusing this passion into adulthood he attended Lakehead University where he majored in Science and later Niagara College to acquire a digital mapping and data interpretation experience. Scott has had the opportunity to work on several environmental studies with both governmental and private groups. During his time as a field tech he happened upon an opportunity to teach and train and a new passion was born. After acquiring his teaching degree, Scott has had the opportunity to teach science at both the senior and junior level. He really enjoys sharing his love of science with the students of BFS and helping to inspire the critical thinkers of the future.

Mr. Lee grew up in Canada where he earned his Honors Bachelor of Science with Specialization in Biochemistry and his Bachelor of Education. During his time in Canada, he held various jobs including tutoring math and reading to kindergartners. In 2011, Mr. Lee moved to South Korea and BFS to teach high school science. He has greatly enjoyed the Korean culture surrounding him. This year, he is teaching AP Biology, HS Biology, HS Chemistry, and HS Physics. He will also be coaching HS Girls Volleyball.

Ms. Hwang was born and raised in Korea and pursued her higher education in Vancouver, Canada. She has been teaching arts at Busan Foreign School for sixteen years. Ms. Hwang teaches from Elementary to AP Studio Art. Her teaching covers a gamut of arts ranging from visual concepts to theory for the elementary grades, to visual communication for AP Studio Art and G6 through G12. Her art classes provide students with the means to apply their art productions in a variety of media within the contexts of critical thinking and broaden their social perspectives.

Ms. Hwang is married and has one daughter. In her free time, she enjoys creating and painting pictures. She also loves traveling, exploring new cultures with her family, and collecting minerals with her daughter.

Dr. Kim has been a member of the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chicago City Symphony Orchestra in America. She has held a graduate faculty position at the American Conservatory of Music from 1997-2004. Currently, she is a member of the American Federation of Musicians, and of the Chicago Federation of Musicians.

Patrick Galles joined BFS in 2016 as the BFS Shark Athletic Director and Physical Education Teacher (K-12). Mr. Galles came to BFS after spending a little more than two decades teaching and leading programs in Tokyo at an American international school quite similar in size and scope to BFS. Originally from the state of Iowa in the U.S., Patrick and his family have called northern Minnesota home since 1996, where, along with his siblings and parents operate an international summer camp program during the summer holidays.

As Mr. Galles enters his third year at BFS he is eager to continue working in support of all BFS students, and the Shark Athletic Program as a whole.

A long way from his home in Sewanee, Tennessee, Mr. Huffman is returning to BFS for his second year teaching computer science. Having been a lifelong gamer, Mr. Huffman began his coding education at Macalester College in 2009 and four years later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science. He worked as a software developer in Minneapolis, Minnesota for two years, before changing gears and pursuing a teaching career. In addition to teaching Computer Science, he has experience being an RA and teaching ESL.

In his spare time, Mr. Huffman is an avid gamer and a cook. He is currently trying to learn how to speak and cook Korean.

Dylan Barnes comes to BFS from Tampa, FL. He grew up in New Jersey and found his devotion for teaching and mentoring as a teenager serving as a summer camp counselor and director. Mr. Barnes received his bachelor’s degree in secondary social science education from the University of South Florida and also holds a secondary technology education certificate in the state of Florida. He is a strong advocate for life-long learning, completing both his master’s and doctorate degrees in the educational field. He is taking the opportunity to join BFS to teach high school computer science after spending seven years teaching technology and developing related curriculum in a STEM-based charter middle school. As an educator, Mr. Barnes strives not only to instruct on various topics of study, but to facilitate learning through practical, real-world application that will continue to benefit students outside of the classroom.

In his spare time, Mr. Barnes enjoys many diverse interests, but mostly spends his time playing ice hockey, reading, drinking coffee, and enjoying the tactile processes of analog photography.

Heidi’s passions are travelling, reading, and volksmarching (non-competitive walking) and her frequent travel companion is her identical twin sister; they enjoy visiting UNESCO World Heritage sites. Heidi hopes her son, Jack, will be able to visit her as well. She is excited for the opportunity to live in Busan and to join the team at BFS.

Ms. Taylor is from the Chicago suburbs where she spent 35 years as an educator teaching Spanish, ESL, 5th grade, and also worked as an administrator. For years, she looked forward to teaching abroad, and will be returning to BFS for her second year, where she will be the high school Spanish teacher. Ms. Taylor is passionate about Spanish and traveling, has been to many Spanish speaking countries, and has led student homestay programs in Mexico.

Ms. Taylor enjoys spending time with her adult children, who live in the Chicagoland area as well. She also enjoys spending time outdoors and in nature by sailing, hiking, and scuba diving, and continues to do these in Busan and Asia. In addition, Ms. Taylor loves listening to music, going to concerts and riding her motorcycle.

Heejin Lee joined BFS as a high school tutor, and has been working as a part of the BFS team for over 7 years. She has a variety of experience in different educational areas and age groups. Although she majored in science, her interest in different languages and cultures led her to a deeper study of her mother tongue, and becoming a Korean Language teacher. She incorporates Korean cultural activities to her classes to make them more fun. Ms. Lee looks forward to meeting BFS families. She is very excited to support our students’ growth emotionally, socially as well as academically.

She has taught in the upper elementary and middle school grade levels as both a core classroom teacher and specialist teacher. She is a Google Certified Teacher and has attended conferences in Muscat, Oman, Mumbai, India and in Kuwait. This is Ms. Suk’s third year at BFS.

In her free time, Angela enjoys camping, hiking, reading and cooking. She also enjoys traveling to new cultures and exploring new areas with her family. She hopes to engage her students to become risk takers in a safe and supportive environment.

Prior to BFS, Ms. Jang studied and worked in the U.S.A and Mexico. This helped improve her English and Spanish communication skills. Ms. Jang has volunteered in a variety of children English camps teaching and assisting the children. In 2018, she earned a master’s in English Education and Secondary Teaching and certification at Pukyung University.

At Busan Foreign School, she primarily supports admission inquiries and student enrollment paperwork. In her free time, she enjoys traveling around the world.

Hyun Suk Kim graduated from Busan Catholic University with a major in Clinical Pathology. She has a license as a clinical pathologist. She has worked at the children’s hospital and Health Promotion Center for 10 years. She also majored in English literature at the Korean National Open University. Last year she took the Korea Red Cross certificate for first- aid. Ms. Kim is always ready to help students when they need her.

Jason Lee joined BFS June 2017. He has a strong background in finance and strategy. His past experience includes five and a half years as a management consultant at Deloitte, and a year working in the strategy department of Hyundai Motor Group. Jason spent one year in London pursuing an MBA.

During his spare time Jason enjoys playing golf, and spending time with his family.

Ms. Ha comes to us after three years working at Inje University Hospital as a nurse. With a strong background in computer sciences, she is excited to join BFS and expand her knowledge to the education industry, working for the Finance department.

Ms. Allepuz, a native of Barcelona (Spain), is starting her fifth year at Busan Foreign School and looking forward to letting the world know about Busan Foreign School. After graduating from Brussels (Belgium) she started working for an American consultancy firm while pursuing her masters in international management. Ms. Allepuz further developed managing complex projects, working within intercultural teams, coaching, and training staff in customer service organizations while becoming an expert in a in a wide array of industries like utilities, banking, logistics for highly professional and reputable companies, such as,ABN AMRO Bank, DHL and APM Terminals to name a few. Having lived and worked on three continents and being a mother of four children (three of them attending BFS), she knows how important the school community is for expatriate parents as well as how critical it is for parents to understand what the school they are sending their children to is truly all about. Ms. Allepuz is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Italian. She is looking forward to seeing BFS grow in the hearts of its parents, students, teachers, and broader community, as well as solidifying BFS’ image as the American international school of choice for the English speaking community of Busan.

Goeun Choi – Marketing & Communications (gechoi@bfs.or.kr)

Educational Background

  • Changwon National University: Bachelors in International Relations

Ms. Choi started her career at BFS after graduating from Changwon National University. While in College, she worked on marketing projects for the Korea Airport Corporation (KAC), and Changwon City. She received a grand award for her designs from the Korea Airport Corporation. Ms. Choi understands the importance that good design plays in communicating with stakeholders.
