What momma left me, by Renee Watson, is a realistic fiction that talks about a thirteen-year-old Serenity who finds herself in trauma. Serenity tries to go over the reality of her mother’s sudden death because of her father who always used domestic violence toward her mother. They start living with their Christian solid household grandparents. They start getting more emotionally damaged after a lot of close members they know die. I give this book a 4.5out of 5 because it shows relatable social issues I’ve gone through, and the problems in this book are continually showing. The reason why I chose this book is that the author really makes the reader make a brain movie! If you enjoy reading social problems, sob stories, and suspense stories, you’re definitely going to enjoy this book because this book has a lot of tension, it’s bizarre and it is really mysterious!
