Students at Busan Foreign School in the Choices and Careers class have been busy class in 8th grade so far this semester.
The current unit the students just finished is Career exploration. Students worked hard on their portfolios, which include resume, cover letter, getting letters of recommendations, business cards, filling out applications and busting stereotypes of the job markets. Students also explored what type of careers they are interested in based on their interest and compared it to their Holland scores– from their ‘dream job’, ‘best fit job’ and ‘job they are qualified to do right now’. 8th graders participated in their first job fair going to several ‘mock interviews’.
All kids did a great job and will be ready for the real deal in the next few years!
Thank you to the parent volunteers and the teachers who helped make this a positive learning experience for our 8th graders.
