Dear Families of MS&HS BFS students,

On August 9, we learned that Busan has moved to level 4 restrictions as part of a nationwide effort to slow the spread of the Delta variant.

After consulting with the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, this means MS&HS students will begin the year using our hybrid model.
The first day of school has also been moved to Tuesday, August 17th.
BFS’ hybrid model allows for increased social distancing, lessened screen time, and enables students to socialize, meet their teachers, and benefit from the advantages of learning in a physical classroom.
Check our hybrid story to find out more about it!

Students will be placed in Group A or Group B based on the family last name, with adjustments made to ensure siblings in different grades are in the same group.
Students will physically attend school either on A-days, or B-days.
Please check your email for the list of students in Group A and Group B.  Group A will begin school in person on August 17 and Group B will be in person on August 18. For your convenience please save the following Hybrid calendar link.

On days when students are not physically at school, they will still have learning to do at home.
Each teacher will structure this time to most effectively meet the needs of their students.
Please note that we will not offer a late bus service during the first week of school and after-school activities are suspended until further notice.

At this time, BFS has not received news of any positive COVID-19 cases within our school community.  If this changes we will notify parents.
We anticipate that we will return to in-person learning for all students as of Monday, September 6, 2021.

We are looking forward to starting the 2021-22 SY.
Stay safe and connected to the BFS community.

Sincerely,

Carl Brenneman
Upper School Principal
