SKAC MS Basketball Results

MS Boys Results

The MS boys took two teams to the SKAC tournament this year coached by Mr. Gates and senior Stephen Lee. BFS 1 had wins over DIS 2 and GIFS, a loss to the tournament champions BIFS 1, and a good game against ISK 1. At halftime the boys were down by almost 20, but had a great second half. Unfortunately they still were 10 points shy of a win. They missed the semi finals by 1 win. BFS 2 ended up 1-3, losing to 3 great teams (all 3 were tied to go to the semifinals). Their victory can be summed by a quote from their coach Stephen Lee, “The ball kept finding our shooters somehow and we just couldn’t miss.” It was a great day of basketball. The boys learned a lot, about basketball and about handling adversity.

Mr. Gates is proud to see how the MS basketball program has grown in the last 3 years. Three years ago the team was co-ed because of small numbers. This year we had two boys teams and a girls team that made it to the semi finals. Congrats to all MS basketball players for your dedication!

MS Girls results

The middle school girls’ basketball team made a lot of noise in yesterday’s tournament. They won two games on their way to the semi-finals, which they lost by a score of 8 to 12. Coach Brennan’s favorite moment came when Hidaya inbounded the ball to Neisha, Neisha whirled around and fired the ball the full length of the court, and Alley caught the ball and put up the successful shot. All things considered, it was a great season. The girls improved dramatically, and they played their hearts out in every game. Be sure to let them know that they represented BFS well. They are (6th grade) Sharin Kim, Jasmin Slootweg, Alley Mathews, Michelle Moon, Diana Lee (7th grade) Amy Jung, Lucy Kim, Hidaya Mansour, (8th grade) Arina Khan, Bini Lee, Neisha Priestly, and Nastya Kim.
