On Saturday, October 8th the Middle School Futsal teams endured the rain and learned some valuable lessons.
Both Boys teams got off to a slow start with two losses apiece. However, after their lunch break, they regrouped and had an excellent finish, with both teams winning their final two games. The very final match of the afternoon was the BFS1 team vs. HIS1, and it was an absolute nail biter. It came down to penalty shots and Danil Galkin, playing on an sore left leg, made some truly impressive saves to carry BFS to victory.
The soggy Saturday and wet fields didn’t dampen the fighting spirit of the BFS girls middle school team. They didn’t come away empty-handed as they earned their first victory of the season 3 to 2 against HIS. They played a total of five games and were competitive in each and learn valuable lessons that they can apply to the next tournament in November.
Spirits were high on the bus ride home and both teams can be proud of their effort and accomplishments. Now will be the time to reflect on the lessons learned at GIFS and prepare for the MS Futsal Finals next month. Go sharks!
