Dear BFS Families,

With the end of the school year, it is time to say goodbye to friends, families, and teachers.  For most of you, that goodbye will be temporary.  For some, you have an exciting time of transition and change ahead as you leave Korea for new adventures.

For my family, we will be saying goodbye to BFS after five wonderful years.  I have been fortunate to work here with my wife and where my son began his schooling.  BFS will always hold a special place in our family’s heart.  We will remember fondly the feeling of togetherness we found in this community as we move to our new life in Bangkok.

I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such concerned and dedicated teachers.  I have learned tremendously during my time here. However, what I appreciate most is working for an organization that is always looking to improve.  A relentless focus on improvements makes us all better.  This has been especially true during my last two years, as we have all adapted to the struggles of being safe and learning during a pandemic.  I am tremendously proud of our community and how we focused on children’s needs in the face of uncertainty.

As a lifelong camper and outdoor enthusiast, I live by the motto, “Leave every place better than when you found it.” So it is personally gratifying to know that BFS will continue succeeding under new leadership.  Together, Mrs. Harvey and Mr. Brenneman have over forty years in education.  This includes five years in leadership positions at BFS.   Mr. Muller will join them as our Curriculum Coordinator.  Together they will ensure that great learning happens.

Wherever I go, I will carry BFS’s motto with me – “Embracing Diversity, Striving for Excellence!”

Use this summer vacation to rest, rejuvenate and reconnect.   We have all earned it.
