As many of you may know, Ms. Elizabeth Poppe, who has been serving as PTSO president for the past year and half at Busan foreign School, will be returning to Texas by Spring break. It is sad to see Elizabeth and her children go. Under her leadership the BFS PTSO has grown stronger and if I had to point one of the greatest accomplishments of Elizabeth during her tenure it would be how she has successfully managed to bring together the different cultural communities of Busan foreign School to work together and serve all children of the school.
Ms. Shirley Harris has volunteered to take her place. Shirley comes from Atlanta, Georgia. She recently moved to Korea with her spouse and two children who attend third and sixth grade at BFS. Shirley is a mental development trainer/educator and has been working with special needs children, adolescences and adults for the past 10 years . In her free time, Shirley enjoys cooking, shopping at the local markets, and spending time with her family.
The BFS PTSO meets monthly on the first Friday of each month at 11:30am in the school auditorium. During our monthly meetings a school administration joins to give parents a small update and PTSO driven events are organised and planned. You can always check meeting agendas and minutes on the PTSO section of the website (https://busanforeignschool.org/bfs-community/ptso/)
Our next event is the Elementary Egg hunt, which will take place on March 25 at the soccer field: all parents are welcome to join us on that day at 10:00am and help the egg bunny hide eggs for the students!
