Busan Foreign School to Participate in the College Board’s AP Capstone™ Program
Busan Foreign School is one of three schools in Korea, the first in Busan, to implement AP Capstone™—an innovative diploma program by the College Board that allows students to develop the skills that matter most for college success: research, collaboration, and communication.
AP Capstone is currently used in approximately 1,000 schools worldwide and continuously increasing in popularity. Furthermore, Universities and Colleges worldwide are starting to regard this program in equal terms as the well known IB Diploma.
“We are proud to having been accepted to the AP Capstone Program, I strongly believe AP Capstone complements our existing curriculum, increasing prestige and rigor to Busan Foreign School. This innovative program gets a broader, more diverse student population ready for college and beyond. The program gives our teachers more leeway with curriculum choices so their students can access more challenging coursework and sharpen their reading and writing skills.” – Mr. Macfarlane – School Principal
The program consists of two courses taken in sequence: AP Seminar and AP Research. Developed in direct response to feedback from higher education faculty and college admission officers, AP Capstone complements the in-depth, subject-specific study of other Advanced Placement® courses and exams.
Mr. Macfarlane will be holding an AP Capstone information session on Friday, February 3rd, at 10:30am (BFS Auditorium).
