Mr. Macfarlane and Mrs. Harvey recently attended the East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools (EARCOS) Leadership Conference in Bangkok, Thailand. It was a great opportunity to network with peers from other international schools and share best practices.
They presented a session, “Making Connections in Professional Development” focused on improving student learning and engagement through teachers’ continuous improvement and growth in their daily practices. During the session, they discussed practical ways to identify a focus for learning, organize collaborative learning groups, make global connections, determine timelines, and measure success.
BFS teachers engage in professional development through a variety of conferences, workshops, university courses, online resources, and collaboration among teachers to meet our school mission. Great teaching can inspire and sustain a student for many years, even a lifetime.
