Reading Workshop
Learning Objective: Students will be able to… use background knowledge to determine meanings of unknown words derived from greek and latin roots.
Summary: We have been studying mythology in our reading unit and will be analyzing words that have greek and latin origins and how they relate to what we have learned.
Writing Workshop
Learning Objective: Students will be able to… edit and revise their writing to strengthen their informational piece
Summary: In writing we are researching a topic of choice related to the American Revolution and synthesizing their findings into a research piece.
Math
Learning Objective: Students will be able to… determine adjacent angle measures using prior knowledge of geometry
Summary: We will finish up our geometry unit this week by discussing adjacent angle measures and how to determine unknown angle measures
Social Studies / Science
Learning Objective: Students will be able to… organize the main events of the American Revolution into a timeline.
Summary: 4th graders will be taking what they know of the American Revolution and working together to create a timeline.
Homework
Reading for 20 minutes a night (K5 – Gr5) is strongly recommended
