The second graders in library class have been working on performing a Readers Theater called «Bears Picnic». Readers Theater is a play in which students read lines that are various scenes of dialog that all students can participate and be confident to perform. The students have assigned parts in which they must read out loud in a clear, expressive voice.
On December 1st the second graders performed in the auditorium in front of parents, BFS faculty, kindergarten and pre k 4 students. The students were very excited and nervous to be reading out loud in front of such a crowd! It was a very successful performance and I’m proud of what they have accomplished. We have made huge strides in speaking clearly, following along in a script and ways to enhance the art of acting.
