It`s an excellent opportunity to hear from university representatives and get the inside scoop on admissions. It`s open to all, but we strongly recommend that juniors and sophomores attend. Mr. Saunders, the AP Coordinator, presented to next year`s grade 10 students. Grade 10 is the first year BFS students can participate in AP coursework. Advanced Placement (AP) classes offer high school students the opportunity to engage in college-level coursework, providing a challenging academic environment that fosters critical thinking and prepares them for the rigors of higher education.
AP courses cover a wide range of subjects, potentially allowing students to earn college credit or advanced placement in college. AP classes not only deepen students` understanding of the subject matter but also enhance their skills in time management, study habits, and academic discipline, making them invaluable experiences for those seeking academic excellence and readiness for college.

On Saturday, April 6th, BFS hosted the Korea International Music Educators Association (KIMEA) Elementary Choral Festival. BFS students in Grades 4 and 5 performed along with students from Cheongna Dalton School, Dwight School Seoul, and Seoul Foreign School. The program included a diverse range of songs with a positive, energetic, and global focus. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to collaborate and celebrate their love of music. Kudos to Ms. Pochon and Mr. Kuo, and our MS/HS studen volunteers, for their dedication and hard work to host a fantastic event. #kimea 🎶👏

Over the past few weeks, Middle School Computer Science students have been learning the basics about Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. For their summative project of the unit, students created a chatbot where a user can have a discussion with a virtual character about a handful of topics of which the character knows about. Students used a supervised machine learning model in conjunction with the Scratch programming language to teach their chatbots how to predict conversational topics and converse with a user.
Middle school chatbot designers had a chance to showcase their projects and learning to others in the community to test, gather feedback, and return to the design cycle to make iterative improvements to their programs. Additionally, students were able to highlight what makes their chatbot unique and what must happen behind the scenes in order to have a fully working program!
